Editor's review
An RSS feed reader specifically aimed for reading feeds off of Blogs.
Pros: As compared to other RSS feed readers, the BlogBridge has a number of interesting features. Foremost among those are a star-rating system you can rate feeds and these ratings are useful for sorting later. “Reading lists” allow you to subscribe to feeds that other people (friends, family) are subscribed to. A powerful search allows a user (even a novice user) to quickly and efficiently find out the feeds that one is looking for and start reading, archiving them. While on the web, feeds can be organized using tagging. You can create smart folders such that BlogBridge will automatically filter certain feeds and save them in those folders based on the search criteria. Feed organization which is achieved through the use of “guides” is also fairly simple and a number of guides come pre-populated on installation. OPML support is included. A user can enter keywords which will then be highlighted throughout a given feed. The search functionality is incremental so that one can continue to refine a given search until they have exactly what they need.
All in all, there are a number of tools at your disposal that make the task of getting exactly what you want easier.
Cons: The interface works well, allows the user to get all required tasks done, but it feels cluttered and sometimes there is too much information on screen for you to focus on what you are trying to get done. No integration with services such as Bloglines and Google Reader. Once, archived, the organizing and reading of archived feeds is not an easy task and requires some amount of effort on the part of the user. Although free-form tagging is possible, the same cannot be used with the smart folders that BlogBridge has.
Overall: 4 stars. Good for advertised tasks. Cluttered interface. Ought to be able to do more when compared with the competition.
